Setting up
The steps are: choose your media activity and structure (company or freelancer); submit your application, portfolio (for freelancers) and documents to TECOM / DDA; obtain initial approval; secure office, studio or co-working space; pay registration and licence fees; and receive your licence and establishment card before processing visas.
Accounting & audit requirements
DMC companies must keep proper accounting records and are generally required to submit audited financial statements at renewal, prepared by an approved auditor under IFRS; freelancers must still maintain records and register for Corporate Tax.
